Fire Dept Investigates Ammonia Leak At Pepsi Bottling Plant In Mesquite

MESQUITE (1080 KRLD) - There are reports of an ammonia leak at the Pepsi Bottling Plant in Mesquite.

The Pepsi plant is located on I-30 near Big Town - across the interstate from Eastfield College.

The Mesquite Fire Department is on the scene and has blocked off the entrance to the plant.

Kelly Turner with the Mesquite Fire Department says an employee accidentally drove a forklift into the ammonia line and ruptured it.

Mesquite Police have also responded.
