DFW AIRPORT (CBS11) - American Airlines tonight cancelled a flight scheduled to depart DFW airport for Paris.

"As soon as we got to the airport, the news was breaking," said Brandi Van Noy Hays.

She was headed out on business.

"My kids were so worried. I was texting the whole time. 'Mom, you can't go! Tell them you can't go!'" she said.

Helen Hansby was just trying to get back home to Paris, when she heard of the attacks.

"I can't swear on American television, can I? It makes me angry because it's cowardly and it's not alright. And they're not going for political people, they're just going for average people," she said.

Emma Agostini compared the attacks in her native country to those of September 11th.

"It's like a war. We are really shocked," she said.

Travelers say, American Airlines delayed their flights several times, as they waited to learn if they'd be allowed to board.

"The flight crew was a little worried. They didn't really want to go to Paris," said Edward Sas, of Charlotte.

"We saw flight attendants getting off the plane and we overheard them saying, I'm not going," said Van Noy Hays.

The flight's cancellation left some stranded and scrambling to rearrange their plans.

"I don't know when I'm going back. And I'm wondering if it's even worth trying for tomorrow," said Hansby.
