MONTGOMERY COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) -- Prosecutors have filed documents to have Adrian Peterson arrested after the suspended NFL running back admitted to violating his bond terms by smoking marijuana.

Court documents show that while submitting a urine sample on Wednesday, Peterson told a staffer that he had "smoked a little weed."

The Montgomery County District Attorney is requesting that Peterson's $15,000 bond be revoked, leading to his arrest.

A decision could be delayed, as the prosecutor requested on Wednesday that Judge Kelly Case recuse himself after accusing the judge of making unflattering remarks about him and Peterson's attorney.

Judge Case apologized for the remarks.

"That was meant as a humorous joke and unfortunately, humor is taken the wrong way.  I apologize to both of you. That's not how I feel about you."

A tentative court date has been set for December 1.

If convicted, Peterson could face between six months and two years in state prison on the injury to a child charge.

Peterson has been placed on the exempt/commissioner's permission list, which is essentially a suspension with pay. The team has said Peterson will remain on the list until the case is resolved. He is not allowed to take part in any team activities.
