IRVING (105.3 THE FAN) - Add Christian Hackenberg to increasingly large list of QB stones getting turned over by the Cowboys.

Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reports that the Cowboys held a private workout for the Penn State quarterback yesterday, so add him to a list of maybe non-first-round prospects that include Dak Prescott and Connor Cook along with the trio of first-round candidates Paxton Lynch, Jared Goff and Carson Wentz that have some workout connection to Dallas.

Hackenberg experienced some struggles in his last two years at Penn State, but nevertheless merits some attention for a Cowboys team that would ideally like to find both an eventual heir to Tony Romo and someone who could be an immediate bus driver to compete with present No. 2 guy Kellen Moore.

Hackenberg might not be both of those things. None of these guys might be either of those things. But the stones keep getting turned over.
