Six people feel symptoms after acid spill at Plano Home Depot

PLANO – A chemical spill at a Home Depot in Plano resulted in six people experiencing symptoms Monday, according to police.

Plano Fire-Rescue and police responded to the Home Depot on State Highway 121 and Ohio Drive. The chemical involved was muriatic acid, a diluted solution of hydrochloric acid often used for swimming pool maintenance.

Although several ambulances were requested, no one was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The store is closed while a Hazmat team from Home Depot cleans up the spill.
