DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - An abducted infant from Kansas was located safely in Dallas Saturday after police said her mother was murdered Thursday.

According to officials, the Child Exploitation Unit was requested by the FBI to aid in the investigation of the murder and abduction out of Wichita, Kansas.

Police said detectives from the CEU received information regarding the possible location of the suspect in the investigation.

After surveillance of the location and the gathering of more information, detectives from the CEU obtained a search warrant for the location. Police said SWAT aided in the execution of the warrant.

According to police, when detectives entered the location, they found the infant safe. Two suspects were also taken into custody.

The infant, Sophia, was taken to Children's Medical Center as a precaution.

Wichita chief of police Gordon Ramsay confirmed on Facebook that Sophia was found safe in Dallas and thanked the FBI, Dallas police, and detectives.

Ramsay also identified the infant's deceased mother as Laura Abarca.

According to Ramsay, Sophia is going back to Kansas with detectives to reunite with family.
