Abbott Again Questions Davis Book Tour During Race

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Democrat Wendy Davis is again disputing ethics allegations raised by Republican opponent Greg Abbott over her new memoir she is promoting in the middle of the Texas governor's race.

The Abbott campaign said Thursday it filed a complaint with the Texas Ethics Commission over Davis using campaign funds to fly to New York this week as part of her book tour. Abbott previously asked the commission for an opinion about the promotional stops.

Davis spokesman Zac Petkanas said the campaign was careful to follow all legal guidelines. He called the complaint politically motivated and frivolous.

Davis on Thursday was set to sign copies of her memoir "Forgetting to be Afraid" in Austin.

Tax records show that Davis received a $132,000 partial advance for her memoir and recorded $100,000 in expenses.
