FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - The former Christian Tabernacle Church building on Avenue I in Fort Worth burned Tuesday night.

The Fort Worth Fire Department says no one was injured as firefighters worked to keep the flames from spreading to nearby homes, but one firefighter was taken to the hospital as a precaution due to heat.

The building suffered a total roof collapse according to the fire department.

An arson investigation is underway.

Investigators will return to the scene on Wednesday.
