A Passing Drivers Quick Actions Helps Save Lives In Distress

IRVING (CBSDFW.COM) -Irving Police say a Good Samaritan played in the important role in helping a number of people involved in a serious wreck Friday.

According to police the driver of a maroon SUV lost control, went over a guard rail, down in embankment and rolled over into a creek. The vehicle was traveling southbound on 114 near Beltline Rd.

Three women and a 13-year-old boy were in the SUV and police say a female truck driver witness the rack and hurried down the embankment to help the victims.

Two of the passengers were able to get out on their own. One of the occupants of the vehicle was pinned inside and the good Samaritan held her head up above water until emergency responders arrived.

According to Irving police one of the victims was seriously injured and she has a head and leg injury.

The Good Samaritan says she knew the woman needed help. "Jesus Christ, my savior, wants us to help each other."
