'A Beautiful Thing' In Cowboys Over Vikings

MINNEAPOLIS (105.3 The Fan) - I relayed to Dez Bryant how proud members of the Dallas Cowboys defense were that they carried quite a load in Thursday's 17-15 victory at Minnesota.

He was not at all fond of the relay.

"I don't see it that way, because it's all one football team," Dez told me. "We're a football team and that's the most beautiful thing that we got. We stick with one another throughout the good and the bad, and y'all witnessed that tonight. Those are the type of things that we care about: pulling out victories like this."

Dallas has now pulled out 11 wins in a row, its 11-1 record creating a gap between the Cowboys and the rest of the NFL.

Defense was key -- including a last-second stop of a Vikings two-point conversion try. But Bryant was key, too. Despite Minnesota's fast and talented defense, he finished with four catches for 84 yards and a touchdown against the Vikings. The 8-yard TD catch in the fourth quarter is the 65th in his career, tying him with Michael Irvin for second all-time in franchise history.

Irvin was at the game broadcasting for the NFL Network and made sure to spent time with the No. 88 he calls "my son."

"He was excited about the touchdown record," Dez said. "But like I told him, that's not what's important right now. Our goal is way bigger than that."
