Fort Worth Police Find Missing 8-Year-Old Boy

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - After asking for help from the public Fort Worth police located a missing 8-year-old boy this morning.

Until now, Dieudonne Babutu hasn't been seen since Tuesday afternoon near the Ladera Palms Apartments in the 4500 block of Campus Drive.

This morning police had a helicopter circling the apartment complex and officers going door-to-door.

"We have a huge map of the Ladera Palms Apartments and we're checking off each building, each apartment that we search," explained FWPD spokesperson Officer Buddy Calzada before the boy was found. "When we cannot get an answer at a door we're verifying with office management making sure either that no one lives there to that we're sending officers back to that apartment."

After having dinner with his parents Tuesday night the little boy went to a nearby playground with friends. All along police believed Dieudonne might have been at a friends house and Wednesday morning they confirmed he was found safe inside one of the Ladera Palms apartments.

No Amber Alert was issued for Dieudonne because police said there was no evidence of foul play in his disappearance.
