FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) — The Humane Society of North Texas is offering a $5,650 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those who burned 5-month-old cat Blossom.

Blossom was found wandering in an apartment complex near AT&T Stadium in Arlington with third-degree burns to her face and ears on Sept. 25, according to HSNT. The organization believes Blossom's burns were administered intentionally. Now that she's recovering, HSNT Humane Investigators are offering a reward funded by The Murrell Foundation and others to find those responsible. Arlington Police Department is also on the case.

"It is crucial that we locate the individuals who tortured Blossom," Ann Barnes, executive director of HSNT, said. "Individuals who abuse animals often escalate to killing animals and harming humans. We need your help to stop the cycle of violence by arresting and prosecuting these criminals."

HSNT said Blossom will need another three to four weeks of burn care before healing completely. The organization is sending her to a foster home, and she will be put into HSNT's adoption program after she fully heals.

HSNT asks anyone with information that may help locate those who burned Blossom to call its Humane Investigations Department at 817-332-4768 x113 or send an email to investigations@hsnt.org. The organization is currently accepting donations for Blossom's care on its website and by mail at 1840 E. Lancaster Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76103.
