DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - At least five vehicles were burned in less than three hours early Tuesday morning, all in the same area of east Dallas. Firefighters were called at about 3:00 a.m. to the corner of Buckner Boulevard and Chariot Drive.

When crews arrived at the scene, they found two vehicles that were on fire. And officials said that a total of five vehicles had been torched since around 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, all centered around an apartment complex at this location. Some of the cars were just feet apart from each other.

The burned cars are totally destroyed. Melted wiring and seat frames could be seen inside of the charred vehicles.

The owner of one torched car said that she is scared, and does not know why she was targeted. Brandi Smith got up on Tuesday for work, but found that her minivan had been burned. "I was coming to go to work when I walked around the corner," she said. At first, she thought only the windows were broken. But she soon realized, "Somebody actually set my car on fire."

"It hurt. I feel violated," Smith added. She has no insurance, and does not know what she will do next. "I feel unsafe if people just come out here and just -- somebody can just walk around here and set people's car on fire. Nobody knows, like nobody said nothing. Nobody knocked on the door. If I wouldn't be going to work, I wouldn't know if it was done."

Additional police officers have been on patrol in the area since the car fires began. Officials with Dallas Fire-Rescue and the Dallas Police Department are working together on this case. Arson investigators also reported to the scene, and are trying to figure out who could have done such destruction. But, so far, there has been no word about a possible suspect.
