Texas has its fair share of beautiful landmarks, and the universities in the state are no different. Whenever polls are released ranking the most beautiful college campuses in America, Texas always has its fair share. While there are not many major universities in the DFW area, there are a large number of smaller, yet still prestigious, universities in the region. Here is a look at some of the most scenic campuses in the DFW area.
Southern Methodist University

The most beautiful hall on campus is Dallas Hall, which was created in the grand Georgian style based on the Rotunda at the University of Virginia. It remains a landmark at the university, which boasts the most beautiful campus in all of North Texas, located in Dallas' University Park.

That makes it one of the biggest colleges in the entire DFW area and is also touted as the biggest religious university associated with the Christian Church. The campus is located just five miles from downtown Fort Worth, an area of the country that still revels in the historic Old West feel. The campus is on 272 acres, which is separated into three areas — the residential area, academic area and Worth Hills. The buildings are a beautiful mix of neo-classical beaux-arts and Art-Deco influence of the Old West look of Fort Worth.

Originally, this university was in Enid, Oklahoma, but it later combined with two other Bible schools and ended up moving to suburban Waxahachie, Texas in 1943. Located in the southern region of DFW, this 73-acre campus is centered around the amazing, and beautiful, structure of the Blake L. Farmer Administration Building. The designs are 20th-century architecture in the conference halls, classrooms and admin offices.

This offers breathtaking views of Mountain Creek Lake. Originally opened in 1898 under the name Decatur Baptist University, it moved to its current location in 1965 and has buildings designed based on numerous historic structures around the world. The architect building is based on Independence Hall in Philadelphia, and it is just one of many beautiful buildings that line this lush campus.

Some of the highlights of the campus' regal beauty include a sandstone guardhouse, immense iron gate and an open-air tea garden. There are public tours during normal university business hours.
