KT's Day 1 Super Bowl Recap
Greetings listeners and readers,
Phoenix, Arizona is the setting, a huge convention center showroom is the specific place of duty today. I said duty. The group from The Fan, 14 of us, arrived yesterday and got the week of coverage started with copious amounts of beer, fun, and shenanigans.
After arriving at the airport we lost Shan & RJ producer Roy White. Ben went back to get him, but it really turned out to be a 30 minute ordeal. After throwing our stuff down at the hotel, we took off to get our credentials and go have lunch. The lunch spot was Alice Coopertown's. Lots of beers were had. There was kind of a group dilemma about going to the Pro Bowl or not. On one hand, it's not everyday you get to go to the Pro Bowl...but on the other hand the Pro Bowl is a complete unnecessary game that even the fans are skeptical about going to.
Some of the group went, specifically Ben, Jesse, and Chris Arnold, in which Ben met his ultimate foe, maybe the only guy on the planet that he hates with all his guts, Dean Blandino. It turned out to be a pleasant encounter. I'd venture to say they are friends now.
Skin, Bacsik, Roy, and I went to watch the Mavs game, and then went over to the Pro Bowl. As we arrived at the Pro Bowl around halftime, we noticed a large portion of the crowd leaving because they were exhausted with the lack of effort from the players in the actual game.
We then all reconvened for a night out on the town. Somehow Shan and RJ stay out until 11pm, even though they have to wake up around 3am. I don't understand how they do it.
