Cold Front Sunday but Rain Chances Small
No rain at DFW Airport today... again. After the wettest August since 1996 we are in the midst of the driest September (so far) since 1984.
The rain today stayed to the west of the metro area and it was spotty at best. Tomorrow we have another slight chance for much-needed rainfall, it arrives in the evening over the Metroplex as a cold front arrives:
Across the southwest corner there is a chance for some afternoon rain. By evening only small chances of thunder showers exist along the front as we lose the daytime heating:
On Monday the front should stall to our south. My afternoon a few showers might crank up along with what is left of the boundary:
We expect another warm day tomorrow, right back into the low 90's:
But dry air is behind the front. This will greatly improve the "feel" of the air.
Monday night is the Autumnal Equinox, the official start of Fall. We'll enjoy some cooler nights and cooler days but in reality they are temperatures typical of time of year. The cooler mornings start Monday:
Not much in rain chances the work week ahead. Perhaps another small chance by Friday and Saturday:
The driest September on record occurred in 1984 when we got only .09" for the entire month. We have ten days to add some rain at DFW or we could break that record.
