PUTRAJAYA, Malaysia (AP) - Malaysia, Australia and China have agreed to suspend the search for Flight 370 once the current area in the Indian Ocean has been completely scoured for the missing Malaysia Airlines jetliner.

The decision was announced Friday after a meeting between the transport ministers of the countries. The Boeing 777 vanished more than two years ago while on a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. It is believed to have turned back and dropped into the Indian Ocean west of Australia, where the search has been concentrated.

Reading out a joint statement, Malaysian Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai said the suspension does not mean termination, and should "credible new information emerge" a resumption would be considered.
