TARRANT COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) - A 23-year-old man from Everman is behind bars after police say he committed a number of sexual assaults at a daycare center.

Chance William Moore is facing aggravated sexual abuse of a child charges.

Investigators say Moore sexually assaulted at least three children at a licensed day care operated out of a home in Everman. Moore is the son of the daycare owner.

Police say Moore began the assaults before he turned 18. One girl told investigators she was assaulted from the age of nine until she was 11. There could be even more victims.

"In order to obtain this type of permit, a background check would be required of every adult in the home and any teenager over the age of 14," said Family Protective Services spokesperson Marissa Gonzales.

"The investigation will continue and we'll work closely with law enforcement to talk to the parents and children involved here," Gonzales said.

The home was licensed as a daycare in 2008 according to FPS and had no complaints filed against it. Family services says it's a warning that parents need to stay vigilant with their day care operators.

"As a parent its important for you to do your own research," Gonzales said.  "To ask a lot of questions. If something doesn't feel right trust your instinct. Trust your gut. Talk to your children. Ask them questions about how their day went."

And experts say pay surprise visits to the daycare, too. It's your right to know what's going on their while your child is in their care.

There has been no confirmation as to whether or not the young victims actually attended the daycare.

Everman Police investigators are working with Tarrant County and Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (CPS) officials to try and learn more about the assaults.

Police are also looking into if Moore assaulted any other children. He remains in the Tarrant County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
