The thousands of people, including hundreds of police officers from across the country, stood by as bagpipes and drums played and Krol's flag-draped coffin was brought outside.

The Honor Guard Ceremony included a 21-gun salute, a flyover, a rider-less horse, a flag presentation and last radio call.

Officer Krol, a Michigan native, had been with the Dallas Police Department since 2007. His body will be returned to his home state where he will be laid to rest.
