2 Fort Worth Officers Hurt During Foot Chase

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Two police officers received minor injuries while chasing a suspect on foot early Tuesday. It began just after 2:30 a.m. in the 2500 block of East Lancaster Avenue in Fort Worth.

The officers were attempting to stop a 34-year-old man who allegedly attempted to solicit a known prostitute. The man hopped into his vehicle and started to flee from the scene.

With the officers chasing him, the suspect left his vehicle and began to run away on foot. He was apprehended while he was trying to climb a fence into a residential yard. The suspect suffered a broken left wrist as he fell to the ground.

The two chasing officers also received minor injuries during the pursuit. They were taken to a nearby hospital strictly as a precaution.

Meanwhile, the suspect was also in possession of both cocaine and heroin. He now faces several charges.
