DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Two people are dead after a shooting at an apartment complex near the Lakewood area of Dallas.

It was around 3:00 a.m. when police responded to the shooting at the apartments near East Grand Avenue and Casa Loma Avenue. When they arrived, they found a male and female dead from gunshot wounds inside an apartment.

Police say they are investigating the incident as a capital murder and do not have any suspects at this time.

Witness told CBS 11 News that they heard two loud knocks and then four or five gunshots around the time the incident occurred.

"It's unsettling. It puts us on edge. We're more cautious. That depends on what the circumstance was. Not having the information is unsettling as well. Knowing that it was a violent act. Anyone would feel fearful," witness Kendrea Rubin said.
