2 Dead in Veterans' Clinic Shooting

EL PASO, Texas (AP) -- A gunman and one other person are dead in a shooting at a veterans' medical clinic in West Texas.

Fort Bliss Maj. Gen. Stephen M. Twitty made the announcement at a news conference Tuesday night. He says the shooting happened at the El Paso Veterans Affairs Health Care System. The clinic is in a complex that includes the William Beaumont Army Medical Center.

The incident was reported shortly before 5 p.m. Central Time Tuesday.
