3 seriously injured in Everman rollover accident

EVERMAN – A 10-month-old baby and two other people were seriously injured in a single-vehicle rollover accident Monday afternoon.

It happened just after 1:30 p.m. in the 1900 block of Everman Parkway. When officers arrived at the scene, they said a pickup truck was on its roof and three occupants of the vehicle were ejected. They were taken to a local hospital with "very serious injuries," according to police.

"All patients (including the baby) are still in critical condition at this time," Everman Police Chief Craig Spencer said late Monday. "We do know, for sure, that speed was at least one of the contributing factors and are still investigating other potential contributors at this time."

The driver, who wasn't ejected from the vehicle, was able to get out and was treated for minor injuries.

Investigators believe that none of the passengers in the truck, including the baby, were wearing seatbelts.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
