MESQUITE (CBSDFW.COM) - Police in Mesquite are searching for suspects after an attempted gas station robbery ended with one person being shot. The incident happened shortly before 1:30 a.m. at a Chevron station located near the intersection of Highway 80 and Town East Boulevard.

Officers were called to the scene and arrived to find one of the robbery suspects with a gunshot wound. Authorities said that he might have been injured during a struggle with the gas station clerk over the weapon. The clerk does not appear to have suffered any serious injuries.

The shot suspect was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, but his current condition is not yet known.

Meanwhile, police are still searching for two other suspects who fled from the scene. The Dallas Police Department was on hand to assist from the air while the Addison Police Department's police dogs joined in the effort, but there has been no sign of those other suspects yet.

This is not the first time that this particular Chevron gas station has been targeted in a crime. Just three months ago, in April, authorities were called to the store about another robbery attempt. Surveillance video from that incident showed one of two suspects get into a scuffle with the clerk, then run face-first into a door, fall down and hit a cooler.
