1 dead after shooting near WinCo Foods in Denton, police say
DENTON (CBSNewsTexas.com) — A man is dead following a shooting in Denton Thursday evening.
The shooting happened in the 2600 block of W. University Drive, near WinCo Foods. Police say the victim sustained at least one gunshot wound. The victim's identity has not yet been released.
Police said the suspect left the area prior to their arrival. They then learned that the suspect knew the victim "to some degree" and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
No other injuries have been reported and this remains and ongoing investigation.
