World Series Ticket Prices Averaging More Than $1,000 On Secondary Market

(CBS SF) -- Ticket prices for the 2014 World Series between the San Francisco Giants and the Kansas City Royals are both giant and royally-expensive, according to one reseller.

Game 1 of the Fall Classic is Tuesday at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City. Standing Room Only tickets offered on StubHub for Game 1 were started at $608 as of Monday afternoon.

Tickets in the lower deck behind the Royals dugout ranged from $1,045 to $4,376 on StubHub.

For Game 3 at AT&T Park in San Francisco, StubHub shows Standing Room Only tickets starting at $509 as of Monday afternoon.

Lower deck tickets behind the Giants dugout for Game 3 ranged from $1,475 34 rows up from the dugout to $11,828 for a Premium Field Club seat.

 

 

According to Forbes.com, the secondary market average ticket price for both teams over the seven scheduled World Series games is $1,168.49.

Forbes cited data from TiqIQ as showing the average resale price for World Series tickets at Kauffman Stadium is $1,196.90, down 24 percent from Friday's average of $1,563.71 .

For World Series games at AT&T Park, the average resale ticket price is $1,138.13 as of Monday, up 4 percent from Friday's $1,094.01 average, according to Forbes.
