Woman Thanks Good Samaritans Who Saved Her From Blocking Traffic In Viral Facebook Post
The story of a couple of Good Samaritans was spreading like wildfire on social media.
Susan Frankel's gas gauge said she still had gas but her car ran out at a five-lane merge near Parkmerced in San Francisco. After an hour and a half blocking traffic and waiting for AAA, she heard a knock on her window – it was a couple of strangers offering to push her car two thirds of a mile to the nearest gas station. She offered them her thanks and money for dinner.
"They wouldn't even let me pay them. Damsels in distress? And the first young man said no, we're Muslim, and it's our duty to help when we see people who need help," Frankel said.
Frankel's Facebook post about her rescue has been shared thousands of times and she thinks it's because people are eager to hear good news that upends stereotypes about Muslims.
