Woman Threatens To Jump From Overpass On Highway 85 In San Jose

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- All lanes were open on state Highway 85 in San Jose following a closure prompted by a woman threatening to jump from a highway overpass, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

Police and CHP officers responded to reports of the woman on the Union Avenue overpass on Highway 85 around 12:45 p.m., according to the CHP.

All northbound lanes of the highway were closed in the area as police and sheriff's personnel attempted to contact the woman, CHP Officer Jared Diaz said.

The woman was safely taken into custody a short time before 2 p.m., and all lanes reopened, according to Diaz.
