Woman Killed In Oakland House Fire
OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- An elderly woman died in a one-alarm fire in Oakland Saturday morning, a battalion chief said.
Fire crews responded to a report of a structure fire in the 2500 block of Parker Avenue around 2:50 a.m., Battalion Chief Erik Logan said.
The blaze at the single-story home was under control by about 3:15 a.m., according to Logan.
The woman, the sole occupant in the residence, was pulled out of the structure and pronounced dead at the scene, Logan said.
Two of the four bedrooms in the home were involved in the blaze, he said.
Logan estimated the fire caused an estimated $150,000 in damages to the rooms and contents.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
