Windy Conditions Cause 100s Of Flight Cancellations, Delays At SFO; Travelers Should Call Ahead

SAN FRANCISCO INTERNATIONAL (CBS SF) -- San Francisco International Airport was reporting hundreds of delays and cancellations due to the windy conditions Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service, at 5:30 p.m. conditions were clear and cold at 53 degrees. Winds were 37 miles per hour, with gusts up to 48 miles per hour.

According to FlightAware.com, some 319 flights had been delayed, and another 102 cancelled.

Airport officials advise travelers to call their airlines before heading to the SFO. Check the status of flights online at www.flysfo.com.
