Warrant Issued For Deputy's Wife Wanted For 2016 San Ramon Crash That Killed Young Boy

MARTINEZ (CBS SF) -- An arrest warrant has been issued for the wife of a sheriff's deputy in connection with a collision last year in San Ramon that killed a 3-year-old boy, California Highway Patrol officials said.

Yarenit Malihan is being sought on charges of gross vehicular manslaughter and felony DUI in connection with a Sept. 9, 2016 collision that killed Elijah Dunn.

The collision occurred in the evening of Sept. 9 on Interstate 680 near Bollinger Canyon Road.

Malihan was allegedly driving a 2008 Toyota Sequoia north on Highway 680 when she crashed into a 2007 Toyota Camry that was parked on the shoulder of the highway, CHP officials said.

Malihan is the wife of an Alameda County sheriff's deputy. She was arrested earlier in 2016 on suspicion of DUI, Pleasanton police said.
