Wet Christmas? Rain Enters Bay Area Forecast Again
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- The Bay Area almost never sees a white Christmas, but a chance of rain forecast for Wednesday could mean a wet Christmas.
After a string of drenching storms recently, the Bay Area got a brief reprieve from the rain that could end on Christmas Eve.
Increasing clouds Wednesday will come with a chance of rain.
This kind of weather system is called an "inside slider," according to KPIX 5 Meteorologist Paul Deanno. "That means it's not going to move in from the Pacific Ocean like most of our weather does. Instead, it'll move around our ridge of high pressure and come in from the north, sliding down the Cascades and Sierra."
The areas most likely to get showers late on Christmas Eve are the North Bay and East Bay. Places like Half Moon Bay, Pacifica, and San Jose are likely to stay completely dry.
