Antioch experienced another wave of shootings over the weekend, with one of them being connected to a deadly shooting in early September, police said.

According to police, the shooting that happened on Saturday, just before 8 p.m., is connected to the killing of Elijah Scales.

Police said three businesses on the 1100 block of Sycamore Drive were damaged by gunfire after at least 17 shots were fired.

No one was injured in the shooting.

Scales was fatally shot on Sept. 2 on the 2100 block of Peppertree Way. Police said a series of shootings happened in the days following his death. Most of the shootings happened in the neighborhood near where Scales was shot.

Police said the shootings that happened on Friday on Cavallo Road and the two Sunday shootings on Carpinteria Drive and East 18th Street were unrelated. The shooting at the Contra Costa Fairgrounds on Sept. 16 was also unrelated.
