Warriors Coach Says Curry 'Doubtful' For Game 4 As Knee Injury Heals

OAKLAND (CBS SPORTS) -- Despite losing to the Portland Trail Blazers in Game 3, the Golden State Warriors are sticking to a cautious plan when it comes to their star Stephen Curry. Warriors coach Steve Kerr told reporters on Sunday that Curry is "doubtful" for Game 4 in Portland. Curry will go through shootaround on Monday and will be re-evaluated afterwards, so he still may be available to play.

Curry has now missed close to two weeks of game action, which was the original timetable after he injured his knee in the first round against the Houston Rockets. He is making progress though, going through light practices and has recently taken part in 3-on-3 scrimmages.

But when Curry will officially return is still up in the air. The Warriors have been quite cautious, not wanting to rush him back as they need him to be at 100 percent if they want to make a return trip to the NBA Finals. Golden State has played quite well without Curry, defeating the Rockets in the first round and holding a 2-1 lead over the Blazers in the second. Curry obviously makes the Warriors a much better team and he'll need to get in-game experience at some point, just so he and the team know he is physically ready.
