Repairs Disrupt VTA Light Rail In Downtown San Jose
SAN JOSE (CBS SF) – Emergency repairs have led to VTA light rail service through Downtown San Jose being disrupted Friday.
VTA announced around 4:00 a.m. that crews were repairing an overhead wire near the Children's Discovery Museum, prompting bus bridges during the morning commute.
Transit officials said bus bridges will continue through the afternoon commute.
Riders who use the Santa Teresa - Alum Rock line have a bus bridge between the San Antonio and Tamien stations. A second bus bridge for the Mountain View – Winchester line has been set up between San Antonio and the San Fernando stations.
The repairs will also impact San Jose Earthquakes fans attending Friday night's game at Avaya Stadium. Line 231 special bus service from Downtown to the Stadium has been canceled. Line 10 service, which connects to the Metro / Airport Light Rail station and the Caltrain station in Santa Clara, will only have regular service.
It is unclear when overhead wire repairs will be completed.
