Video: FAA Will Enforce 32-Mile Wide No Drone Zone At Super Bowl 50
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- The Federal Aviation Administration created a video to remind folks not to fly drones over this Sunday's Super Bowl game at Levis Stadium, in Santa Clara.
"Bring your lucky jersey, bring your face paint, bring your team spirit," booms a convincing voice. "But leave your drone at home."
Not only is the stadium a #NoDroneZone, the FAA rule encompasses everything within a 32-mile radius of the Santa Clara stadium.
The no-fly zone is temporary, though. It starts at 2 p.m. on Sunday and ends at midnight.
Violators risk getting arrested and slapped with a fine. A civil penalty from the FAA ranges from $1,000 for individuals, to as much as $27,500 for businesses.
