Vehicle Strikes Fire Hydrant Near Mill Valley

MARIN COUNTY (CBS SF) -- A car struck a fire hydrant Tuesday afternoon just south of Mill Valley, and the resulting plume of water can be seen from U.S. Highway 101, fire officials said.

The hydrant is in the 200 block of Shoreline Highway, according to the Southern Marin Fire Protection District, which reported the incident on Twitter just after 4:30 p.m.

Crews are on scene attempting to stop the flow of water, according to fire officials. Further information was not immediately available.
