Vegetation Fire Burns About 40 Acres In Bay Point

PITTSBURG (CBS SF) -- A vegetation fire burned about 40 acres in Bay Point early Saturday morning and took firefighters nearly five hours to control, according to the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District.

Fire crews responded to a report of the fire at Solano and Suisun avenues in Bay Point around 12:35 a.m., fire officials said.

The blaze was under control by about 5 a.m.

The fire department initially said about 100 acres were burned in the fire but later clarified that only about 40 acres burned.

No one was injured and no homes were damaged, according to the fire department.
