Investigators Say UC Davis Student, Roommate Died In Murder-Suicide
DAVIS (CBS SF) -- The Yolo County Coroner's Office says a UC Davis veterinary student and her roommate died in a murder-suicide.
Investigators say 27-year-old Whitney Engler, expected to graduate in May, died from gunshot wounds to the head and chest.
Engler's body was found early Friday at a Davis home that she shared with her roommate, 23-year-old Joe Hein. He was also found dead at the home of a single gunshot wound to the head.
Police believe Hein was the shooter and had called police before he killed Engler and himself.
