Transient Man's Death In Pittsburg Spurs Homicide Investigation

PITTSBURG (CBS SF) -- Investigators say the death of a man found dead in a Pittsburg park last week was a homicide, a police captain said Monday.

Anthony Loera, 41, was found unresponsive on a bench in Buchanan Park at 4150 Harbor St., just after 7 a.m. Wednesday.

Loera is a known transient, according to Capt. Rathnesh Raman, and the reporting party had seen him in the park Tuesday evening.

Based on the results of an autopsy, his death has been determined to be a homicide.

Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Detective R.L. Thompson at (925) 382-6162.
