Top 40 Countdown Radio Host Casey Kasem Missing Amid Family Dispute
LOS ANGELES (CBS SF) -- The world knows him as the "American Top 40" countdown voice, but now the world is looking for Casey Kasem after the ill radio personality's wife announced he had been removed from Los Angeles without her or his family's, knowledge, and could be out of the country.
Kasem, 82, has advanced Parkinson's disease and no longer is able to speak.
A court investigator and adult protective services have been ordered by a judge to find out where he is being treated.
The Kasem family has been going through a dispute, as his adult children claim Kaem's wife--their stepmother--Jean Kasem--won't let them see him according to an agreement.
His daughter, Kerri Kasem believes he may be held on a native American reservation in Washington state.
An attorney for Kasem's wife said he didn't know where the radio host was, but that he was not in the United States.
