2-Year-Old Girl Struck By Hit-And-Run Driver In Santa Rosa

SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) -- A toddler girl was seriously injured in a hit-and-run collision near the Coddingtown Mall in Santa Rosa Thursday afternoon, an emergency dispatcher said.

The incident was reported at 2:41 p.m. on Range Avenue. Authorities responding to the accident found the child unresponsive in the street. Police said the girl was with an adult but had run into the street where she was hit.

A search for the suspect driver and vehicle led Santa Rosa police to an apartment complex on Range Avenue where officers interviewed a person of interest identified as Hector Cabrales Larios, 47, of Santa Rosa. Police arrested Larios for felony hit-and-run and felony DUI.

Larios had three prior misdemeanor convictions and one felony conviction for DUI, according to Santa Rosa police.

The child victim is expected to survive her injuries. Her name will not be released due to her age, police said.
