TNT Boldly Predicts Warriors Sweep Of Rockets
OAKLAND (CBS SF) – There is an old axiom in sports that you have to play the games.
The Houston Rockets prepared for their Thursday night's Game 3 NBA playoff showdown with the highly favored Golden Warriors with almost everything it seemed stacked against them.
They are down 2-0 in the best of seven series. Only one team in NBA history has rebounded from such a precarious position to win an opening series.
League MVP Steph Curry, who missed Game 2 with an injured ankle, is expected to be back in the Warriors lineup.
And even Mother Nature seemed to be taking a shot at the team after heavy rains triggered flooding that damaged some of the players' homes.
"Got no power in my house," Houston guard Patrick Beverly said after the Game 2 loss. "Heard some water came into my room. Guess I wanted some new carpeting anyway."
But the cruelest blow may have come Tuesday night. They were given no change at all to even win one game in the series by TNT which is among the networks covering playoffs.
In an on-air graphic, he network showed the remaining schedule for the first round with Games 5 , 6 and 7 listed simply as "not necessary."
