10 People Escape Fire At San Jose Home; 3 Injured

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- Three people suffered minor injuries in a one-alarm fire that burned a two-story home Sunday morning in San Jose, according to the San Jose Fire Department.

A fire dispatcher said the first report of the fire in the 2400 block of Glen Fox Court came in at 12:08 a.m. Paramedics treated the three injured residents outside the home, San Jose fire Capt. Peter Caponio said.

Caponio said a few of the ten residents of the home escaped onto the roof during the fire and firefighters rescued them. Firefighters extinguished the fire at about 12:40 a.m., Caponio said.

Caponio said that smoke alarms alerted all the residents to the fire, which damaged about a quarter of the home.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
