18-year-old, juvenile suspected in San Rafael shooting surrender to police

A second suspect in a San Rafael shooting last weekend that sent one man to the hospital has turned himself in, according to police.

Andy Arevalo, 18, turned himself in to the police at about 9:30 a.m. Thursday and was arrested on suspicion of attempted homicide and conspiracy, San Rafael police said.

The other suspect, a juvenile whose name was not released, turned himself in on Wednesday and is facing conspiracy and aiding and abetting charges.

Both are suspected in a pair of incidents that started Saturday at about 2:40 p.m. when officers were called to the 500 block of D Street in response to multiple calls about some kind of disturbance.

Shortly afterward, officers were sent to the 500 block of B Street, where they found a multi-vehicle collision from which the pair allegedly ran, police said.

They also found a man suffering from gunshot wounds who was taken to the hospital. His condition wasn't released.
