Suspect In Multiple Offenses Arrested In Hayward After Police Chase

HAYWARD (CBS SF) – Hayward police took a person in custody who was considered armed and dangerous and wanted for multiple offenses, police in Fremont and Hayward said.

A chase started Wednesday at about 1 p.m. in Fremont, Fremont police spokeswoman Geneva Bosques and Alameda County sheriff's spokesman Ray Kelly said.

Police set up a command post near Carlos Bee Boulevard and California State University East Bay in Hayward and established a perimeter to try to apprehend the suspect, Bosques said.

Officers were seen at a crash site at Luke Ct. and Sulphur Ave. next to East Avenue Elementary School.

Bosques said the investigation is ongoing and no more information was immediately available Wednesday afternoon.
