Suspect Arrested In Shooting Death Of Pregnant Teen
VALLEJO (CBS SF) -- A 21-year-old Vallejo man wanted in the shooting death of a pregnant teen and her unborn child was arrested early Wednesday after a standoff with police in Vallejo, authorities said.
San Pablo police spokesman Sidney DeJesus said detectives got a lead Tuesday night as to the whereabouts of one of two men wanted in connection with the shooting death of the 18-year-old.
Officers surrounded a Vallejo apartment complex where Luis Javier Monje Morales Jr. was hiding and made contact with the suspect, who attempted to flee.
After a short pursuit, Morales was discovered on the roof and was taken into custody at 3 a.m. He was unarmed and arrested without a struggle.
San Pablo Police said a person of interest being sought, 21-year-old Luciano Rogelio Duarte, turned himself in to police Wednesday morning.

According to investigators, 18-year-old Ilaysia McCoy was gunned down just six days before her baby shower. Officers responded at 7:51 p.m. to a shooting reported in the 1700 block of 17th Street in San Pablo and found McCoy lying in the roadway with an apparent gunshot wound.
McCoy was taken to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries, as did her unborn infant.
McCoy's sister has set up a GoFundMe page to raise money to help support her family during this time of need. Information on the page states that Ilaysia was set to attend a baby shower for her infant this weekend.
