Super Bowl Celebrations Take Over Santa Clara, Not Just In San Francisco

SANTA CLARA (CBS SF) – Not all of the great Super Bowl entertainment is happening in San Francisco. The game's host city, Santa Clara is planning to bring on some heavy celebrity guns to celebrate Super Bowl 50.

Santa Clara will kick off Super Bowl 50 week by welcoming Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Famers Ann & Nancy Wilson of "Heart" will take to the stage at Mission College. The outdoor concert and fireworks show will take place on January 31st.

Bay Area music legends Huey Lewis & The News will headline the Super Community Celebration on February 6th at Santa Clara University. The all-day event features a celebrity flag football game with former Dallas Cowboys Michael Irvin and Tony Dorsett playing team captains. Other activities include world champion athletes signing autographs, a pep rally with cheerleaders and a performance by the award-winning Santa Clara Vanguard Drum & Bugle Corps. Moveable Feast food trucks will be present to feed the hungry masses.

"Gridiron Glory: The Best of the Pro Football Hall of Fame" at the Triton Museum of Art in Santa Clara features a portion of Pro Football Hall of Fame's large collection of football memorabilia. On display, the collection includes a Vince Lombardi Trophy, special NFL Films footage, rare game photos, mementos and so much more to see from the Pro Football Hall of Fame's collection. The exhibit is currently running through April 3rd.
