Strong Magnitude 6.0 Earthquake Hits Vanuatu Just Days After 6.8 Tremor

ISANGEL, Vanuatu (CBS SF) - Just days after a larger earthquake, the island chain of Vanuatu has been hit by a 6.0 quake Friday morning California time.

The United States Geological Survey reports the earthquake as a 6.0 magnitude near the town of Isangel on the southern end of the archipelago, between Fiji and Australia.

The quake hit just days after a larger 6.8 magnitude quake hit the one of the northern islands.

There have been not reports of damage or injury, and the was not initial word of Tsunami risk.
