String Of Earthquakes Shake San Ramon Area Following Dozens Of Shakers Over Weekend

SAN RAMON (CBS SF) -- A string of small earthquakes shook the San Ramon area Monday, following dozens of quakes over the weekend, the USGS reported.

A magnitude 2.8 quake struck the East Bay community just after 4:00 p.m., and a pair of magnitude 3.5 earthquakes followed about thirty minutes later.

Around 5:45 p.m., the USGS said another quake, a magnitude 2.5, struck San Ramon.

The shaking did not stop in San Ramon Monday evening. Two more earthquakes, magnitude 2.8 and 2.9 respectively, struck shortly after 9:30 p.m.

No damage, or injuries were immediately reported.

Counting earthquakes of lower magnitude, there were 201 small shakers in the past week as of 5:20 p.m. Monday. Eleven of those earthquakes were registered by USGS' system within the preceding hour.
